FAQS: 1) What does the "family membership" or the "breeder dues" pay for? Answer: Your family membership supports the Alabama Lamb Producers association and allows them to continue to provide livestock exhibiting opportunities. Funds directly support the Alabama Born and Bred show by paying for things such as the judge, venue (as needed), prizes, payout, and supplies needed to operate the show. It also provides the end of season banquet for all lamb exhibitor's and their families. Our organization is not for profit, but for the expansion of the youth livestock industry.
2)What does the lamb nomination fee cover? This fee covers awards for the top 5 lambs in the points circuit, sponsors born and bred division awards at local shows, and contributes to the payout at the Alabama Born and Bred show at the end of the season.
3) What makes up the board of directors and what do they do? Our board consists of a president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, and 3 board members. Together, the board works to keep things organized and running throughout the show season. We do not control other shows in the state of Alabama and specifically work for the advancement of the Alabama lamb industry. Board members are from all over the state of Alabama and are unpaid volunteers that give up their time to work for the youth in the state and provide quality opportunities for Alabama showmen and their projects.
